An Oh So Magical Christmas Market!

We haven't gotten around to as many Christmas markets this season as I had planned, but of the ones we've been to, the Romantic Christmas Market at the Thurn and Taxis Palace in Regensbug was my favorite. Laurel & I went during the day at the beginning of December and liked it so much that we wanted to go back and see it lit up at night time, so this weekend we convinced the boys to go back with us.

The market is held on the grounds of the beautiful palace of the Thurn & Taxis family, where some of the family still resides. According to the information I read about the palace, it is actually larger than Buckingham Palace. Laurel & I will definitely be going back later to just tour the place.

I loved that this market had a large number of stalls offering all sorts of food and Christmas items, but it still had a small feel to it. It was a lot of fun to shop there on our day trip, and it was absolutely beautiful to see during our evening trip. I mean, a Christmas market with a palace for a backdrop plus twinkly lights...what more could you ask for?

How cute are those alpacas??

I loved that they had so many nice seating areas built around cozy fires.

There are booths all around the outside walls of the palace, but even more once you enter the center courtyard where this gorgeous tree is. Just wait until you see the night time picture though!

When the sun goes down, this happens!

Y'all, it is beautiful!! It just makes me happy all over!

Chocolate, anyone?

How about some smoked fish?

Austin even found a booth he liked!

This Christmas market is one that I know I will go back to every year!
