Speinshart Monastery

Last week on one of our snowy days, we made a quick stop on the way home from buying groceries to see the church at the Speinshart Monastery. The monastery was founded in 1145, and the current church building dates back to late 1600s. There are currently nine monks residing at the monastery. In addition to the church and housing area for the monks, you'll find a restaurant, an inn, and multiple rooms and halls that are used for concerts and events.

I had seen a few pictures of the church online, and they were beautiful so I was very excited to get inside. They still had it decorated for Christmas which was just icing on the cake for me!
