Vienna Christmas Market

Our big family Christmas trip started in Vienna just a couple days before Christmas. We checked into our hotel, then made a beeline to the Vienna Christmas Market just as the sun went down. I had read so many wonderful things about this Christmas market and could not wait to experience it. Set in front of the stunning Vienna Rathaus (town hall), this is a sizeable Christmas market, but it somehow manages to maintain an air of coziness. There were twinkly lights hanging from all the trees and stall after stall of amazing food and beautiful crafts. We got really lucky with the weather as well. It was just cold enough to feel like winter without making us miserable.

The Rathaus all lit up was just stunning! I couldn't stop looking at it!

No Christmas market experience is complete without eating a ridiculous amount of food and and buying yourself a hot beverage in a cute souvenir mug! We all pigged out on delicious soups in bread bowls and found some hot chocolate in the cutest heart-shaped mugs.

I might have been slightly obsessed with taking pictures of this gorgeous building!

We all loved the Vienna Christmas Market, and that's saying a lot for the boys who are generally not fans of large markets. I can definitely say it is my favorite large market to date, as well as one of the prettiest I've seen. Two Thumbs Up, Vienna Christkindlmarkt Rathaus!!
