We stayed in the town of Triberg right on the Black Forest railway line. It is home to Germany's highest waterfalls and lots of cuckoo clock shops. We stayed above the most adorable little cafe that served all sorts of sweet treats and warm beverages which were very welcome during this slightly chilly trip.
Continuing the fairy-tale theme of this trip, Triberg is full of the cutest shops and houses which create the most delightful surroundings.
We spent the afternoon walking around town, going into all of the various shops, visiting the waterfalls, and of course, eating.
I debated and debated with myself about buying a cuckoo clock and decided not to, only because I have an old clock handed down through my dad's family, and I really couldn't see myself wanting two wooden clocks. It was a lot of fun to look at them all and hear them cuckoo though!
Our Black Forest trip was the perfect fall break getaway! We'll never again eat Black Forest ham, Black Forest cake, or see a cuckoo clock and not remember our visit here.
